4 February, 2009 (14:41) | Announcements | By: Stewart McGlaughlin

In the past 5 months the Delta Zeta Chapter has participated in numerous volunteering activities which include The Go Far race, High point University’s Halloween Carnival, and The Special Olympics. The Go Far Race is a 5K race for children and adults to encourage them to be more active. The Delta Sigs handed out water to the runners and congratulated the runners at the finish line. The High Point University Halloween Carnival is an event that the University holds to give out candy to the children of all the surrounding elementary schools during Halloween. At the Halloween carnival the Delta Sigs handed out candy to the elementary school children that came. The Delta Sigs also congratulated children at the special Olympics event as the arrived.  The Chapter currently has 13 Pledges.

HPU Joins List of Universities Going ‘Smoke-Free’

7 January, 2009 (01:07) | University | By: Stewart McGlaughlin

With more college campuses across the country going tobacco free, today’s younger generation has fewer places than ever to light up. The latest school to go ’smoke-free’ is High Point University. Starting June 1st, the school’s campus, indoors and outdoors, will be smoke-free. Students will be forced to leave campus to smoke. The ban shouldn’t come as a surprise to students because smoking has been banned inside residence halls and buildings for years.
